No — and the difference shows up after the first answer. In a chat window you have to know what to ask next, and nothing you read comes back. Strive works out what you actually need, orders it into modules and lessons, quizzes you across them, and brings each idea back on a spaced schedule. A chat window answers a question. Strive builds the course — and it’s still there in week six.
Top up any time (any whole-dollar amount, $5 minimum) or upgrade tiers. We refund allowance on jobs that fail. Lessons you’ve already generated are yours forever; running out only stops new generation.
Yes — architecturally. Your notes, bookmarks, and quiz attempts never feed into generation, recommendations, or any other learner’s view. We don’t sell your study data.
The curriculum (modules + lesson titles) is typically ready in under a minute. Individual lessons are generated on demand and stream onto the page block by block — you’re reading within seconds, not waiting for a finished document.
Most general-knowledge domains work well — marketing and sales, software and web/mobile development, content and creator skills, exam prep, languages (text-first), business and analytics, no-code and AI automations, design, and STEM. We don’t recommend Strive for medical, legal, or clinical advice; the platform isn’t a specialist tool.
Yes. As well as describing a goal, you can upload material you already have — PDFs, Word documents, slides, spreadsheets, ePub files, plain text, images and audio recordings — and add links to public pages you want covered. Before anything is generated you see which files were read, how much usable material each one holds, and where the gaps are, and you choose how closely the course should follow your sources. Every lesson is marked either “From your documents” or “AI-supplemented”. Your material is private to your account, is never shown to other learners, and is not used to train AI models.
The module quiz appears at the end of each module and tests synthesis — at least two questions span multiple lessons. The recall queue surfaces atomic ideas (3–5 per lesson) at scheduled intervals over weeks to anchor them in long-term memory.
You can chat with a live AI agent during the wizard to refine the structure before accepting. Once accepted, lesson content is generated on-demand from the curriculum; we don’t currently support post-acceptance manual editing of lesson text.
